Abstract:Several kinds of Fe–Based alloy cladding layers were obtained by using a CO2 laser on 27SiMn steel
surface. The effect of C, V+W content on the phase composition, microstructure, hardness and corrosion resistance
had been studied. The results showed that the influence of trace elements on the microstructure of cladding layer
was not significant. The cladding layer was uniform with fine dendrite structure. The hardness increased and
corrosion resistance decreased with the increase of C content within limits. For the cladding layer, when the C
content was 0.1%, the decrease of Ni elements and increase of V+W elements resulted in the increase of hardness
and the decrease of corrosion resistance.
