Abstract:Several kinds of crack-free Fe–Based alloy cladding layers were obtained using laser cladding
process on 27SiMn steel surface. The effect of Ni content on the phase composition, microstructure, hardness
and corrosion resistance was studied. The results showed that the microstructure of the three cladding layers is
uniform and fine dendrite. The cladding layer with different content of Ni is mainly composed of α-Fe phase and
γ-Fe phase. With the increase of Ni content, the γ-Fe phase content in the cladding layer increased and α-Fe phase
content in the cladding layers decreased gradually. And the grain size of the cladding layers increased, while,
the hardness decreased. Corrosion resistance significantly improved of Fe-Based cladding layers were due to
Ni Content increasing, The main reason for the excellent corrosion resistance of the layers were the mechanical
barrier effect of the passivation effect of the composite oxide film.
